Anthem Foundation for Objectivist Scholarship

The Anthem Foundation Makes Gift to Boston University

Irvine, CA, September 21, 2012—The Anthem Foundation is pleased to announce a one-year gift to the Department of Philosophy at Boston University in support of a Fellowship in Objectivity and Values, being held this year by Dr. Gregory Salmieri. The Foundation is also contributing to a fund for Dr. Salmieri’s scholarly research into Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism. In addition, the Department of Philosophy is establishing a Fund for Objectivity and Values to support conferences on ancient philosophy organized by Dr. Salmieri.

“I am delighted to be able to join in the rich intellectual life of the BU department,” said Dr. Salmieri. “My research has already benefitted from discussions with my new colleagues and with other members of the Boston-area philosophy community. I am looking forward to continuing these stimulating discussions, over the course of the year, both in the corridors of the department, and in the workshops that the fellowship will enable me to organize.”

Commenting on the gift, Anthem Foundation senior director Debi Ghate said, “The Anthem Foundation is pleased to support Boston University’s philosophy department and Dr. Salmieri’s research and teaching. We look forward to witnessing the fine scholarship that will be done as a result.”
